The Mandarin Oriental Hotel

With deep roots in Asia and an intensely ambitious growth plan, the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Group is well-positioned to bring an a-game hotel to CityCenter. Luxury hotels are nothing new in Las Vegas, and even the oldest, most run-down buildings have their own special suites and services. But every year the bar grows higher, forced up by the intense competietion from Steve Wynn or the Four Seasons. Now, the Mandarin Oriental pushes the standards up even more.

The service begins at check-in, which is on the 23rd floor overlooking the Strip. Visitors are handedhot towels and hot tea immediately, both with a smile and a bow. In fact, anything given to a guest during their entire stay will be delivered in the Eastern tradition, with both hands and a subservient attitude.

Hotel rooms at the Mandarin Oriental

Accommodations are technologicaly advanced, with lights, draperies, and temperature controlled from the TV. The equipment may be standard to newer hotels, but the service is aided by the architecture as well, with valet closet in every room for discrete deliveries. Everything is quiet and peaceful... except in a few rooms on the lower levels that face the Strip. Pounding karaoke from a rowdy bar can be hard to block out entirely, even from 300 yards away.

The great spa at the Mandarin Oriental

This could well be the best spa in Las Vegas, and they know it, too. Couples treatments can cost up to $800, and anyone planning to spend the day there should also plan on getting a second mortgage to finance it.

A restaurant ceiling at Mandarin Oriental

The Mandarin Oriental hosts several fine restaurants, though foodies will not make it a primary destination in Las Vegas. The cuisine is all good, and in some cases great. But compared to the many one, two, and three-star places to eat on the Strip, the Mandarin Oriental's restaurants become average. The prices at most eateries within the hotel are very high, but then so are the city views and the service.

Meeting rooms at the Mandarin oriental

While not a place for huge conventions, the Mandarin Oriental can be one of the best meeting centers in Las Vegas for smaller gatherings. From groups of 6 to 600, the meeting spaces can accommodate, accent, and improve any kind of event or seminar. State of the art technology, foward-thinking design, and, of course, really good service all come pre-packaged with any room reservation.
