LVMPD Partners with Community

by Pete Allman, Celebrity Scene News, December 15th, 2007
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department recognizes the importance of community involvement in providing safety to the downtown area. LVMPD Lt. W. Graham is experienced in fighting crime and drug trafficking. He has put forth a program that is effectively diminishing crime and drug-related offenses, especially robbery. According to the officer, itís a team effort, and partnering with the community makes it successful.

The Downtown Business Operators Council is also working with the program to help educate business owners on how to recognize and eliminate risk factors to avoid being victims of robbery and other crimes.

LVMPD for the past year hosts First Tuesdays, held at the Downtown Area Command on 9th and Bonanza. Individual business owners, as well as the public, are encouraged to attend the informational meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m.. Contact Earl White at 513-9063 or 265-9099 for more information.
